Rishikesh, better known for the Beatles, ashrams and yoga is now ironically undergoing its own reincarnation and transforming into a picturesque and fun adventure destination with a predominant focus on treks as well as white-water rafting on the Ganges. Kumaon is one of the most beautiful places in the Himalayan foothills, treks though remote villages, staying in village houses and walking on tracks of fallen rhododendron flowers, make this a must visit part of India.
